Case Study - Celebrity lead appeals

Mar 17, 02:20 PM

Today see's the official launch of the 2008/09 unrestricted fundraising appeal for the Crime Diversion Scheme. The appeal has been designed in a 'case for support' format and has been sent to 1,000 grant making trusts and foundations together with a personlised letter from Penelope Keith, the charity's Patron.

The fundraising appeal has been designed to raise £50,000 which will help towards the core running costs and staffing for the scheme. Trusts have been to consider donations of £10,000 per annum with 3 years support being requested.

Our fundraising consultants now increasing look for well known individuals or celebrities when designing fundraising appeals such as this, and find that the results can outperform the traditional method of using fundraising staff to 'make the ask'.

It is early days for this appeal and we anticipate that most donations will be recieved in the opening quarters of 2008/09.
